Spring has Sprung

2018-pbh-combo2

Welcome to the Pals March 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “Spring has Sprung”. The Stampin’ Pretty Pals will inspire you with Spring or Spring-related projects. You may see floral, Easter or other general Spring-inspired designs. You may be just starting or hopped over from another Pal. In either case you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

For me, spring makes me think of colorful and beautiful flowers. Each spring my husband and I spend time planting new blooms in our garden and enjoy watching things grow. So for today’s card, I knew I wanted to make vibrant flowers the star of the show and I used the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper to help me do that. I love the designs in this paper and it is perfect for coloring with the new Stampin’ Blends markers.

I cut out circles from the Stitched Shapes Framelits in Old Olive and Pink Pirouette to coordinate with the flowers that I had colored to give added texture to my card. I also fussy cut out some flowers from the Designer Series Paper to add to the circles. The sentiment from the Colorful Seasons is so versatile that this card can be used for a spring birthday, thinking of you, just because, and many more!

You may be just starting or hopped over from another Pal. In either case you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

My CASE:

Sara Stuart blog

Today I was inspired by projects in the True Gentleman suite in the 2018 Occasions Catalog. I love this suite – the stamps, the punches, the paper – the elements work wonderfully on their own and come together for great cards! I was inspired by the photo in the catalog to use the Tailored Tag Punch to punch out fun shapes of the Designer Series Paper and not just to punch out images from the stamps. I popped my sentiment up with dimensionals and masked when I inked so I could use 2 different colors for the same image.

Wedding Wishes – January Blog Hop

2018-pbh-berryburst

Welcome to the Pals January 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “From the Heart” featuring heartfelt projects like Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and Sympathy. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

One of my favorite new items from Stampin’ Up is the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. The different designs in the set are all exquisite and have a great silver detail throughout. The gorgeous flowers screamed wedding to me and how better to celebrate a theme of “From the Heart” than celebrating the love at a wedding. I cut the flower images for my card directly from the Designer Series Paper!

I often use lots of white paper and white space when making a wedding card but I like to add texture and dimension to it to keep it from looking flat or boring. In this card, I used the Garden Trellis Textured Embossing Folder to help set my background. I also used Silver heat emboss powder on the sentiment which was cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then popped up with dimensionals. I have a layer of Silver Foil on my card to bring all of the silver elements together.

I love that the envelopes in the Tutti-Fruity Cards & Envelopes have a solid front but the back flap and inside have patterns to give it an extra design element. The “to the happy couple” sentiment and mini hearts in the Amazing Congratulations set were a perfect pair to stamp the envelope.

I hope I’ve helped provide you with some inspiration for a future card!
